MoodJournal: Feel Better Daily - Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Skyline Apps ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the MoodJournal: Feel Better Daily mobile application ("the App").

Information We Collect

Journal and Mood Data

The App allows you to record mood scores, emotion tags, written reflections, and voice notes. This data is stored entirely on your device using local storage. We do not transmit, collect, or have access to any of your journal content.

Voice Notes and Speech Transcription

If you use the voice journaling or speech-to-text features, the App accesses your device's microphone to record audio. Voice notes are stored locally on your device. Speech-to-text transcription is performed using Apple's on-device SFSpeechRecognizer framework. Audio data may be sent to Apple's servers for processing as part of the Speech Recognition framework. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles speech data.

Purchase Data

In-app purchases (Pro and Pro+ subscriptions) are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. We do not collect or store any payment information. Purchase entitlements are verified on-device using Apple's StoreKit 2 framework.

Usage Data

The App does not use any analytics SDKs. We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or any other telemetry data. The App operates fully offline with no network calls.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following Apple system frameworks that may involve data processing:

  • Apple SFSpeechRecognizer — Used for speech-to-text transcription in voice journaling. Audio may be processed by Apple's servers. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple StoreKit 2 — Used to process in-app subscription purchases. All payment processing is handled by Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple LocalAuthentication — Used for Face ID / Touch ID passcode lock. Biometric data never leaves your device and is never accessible to the App. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Storage

All journal data, mood records, settings, and user preferences are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults and local JSON files. We do not operate servers that store your personal information. No account is required to use the App.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. We do not use advertising SDKs. The only external data transmission that may occur is audio sent to Apple's servers for speech recognition when you use the voice journaling feature.

Microphone Access

The App requests microphone access only when you use the voice journaling or speech-to-text features. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device Settings. Revoking access will disable voice journaling but will not affect other app features.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual journal entries from within the App at any time. To remove all App data, uninstall the App from your device. Since all data is stored locally, uninstalling the App permanently removes all your journal data from your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
